I suggest you ...

new units and currency

hipnotist - turns enemy ground unit to friendly
assasin - tap on ground unit to kill it (could take some time to kill, in which time it could be killed)

metal currency:
can be used to create a normal unit with upgraded damage or armor
can be used to create new units or defences:
mine - is created near the castle and blows the unit that reaches it
wall - near the castle, enemy unit that reaches it takes some time to destroy it before reaching the castle
builder - rebuilds castle health a bit (takes a while so can be killed while doing this)

and of course, a new campaign is more than welcome :) maybe japan?
